Other ways to help
We rely on the generosity of and kindness of the public to help us provide the best care for all the donkeys.
When arriving the donkeys are underweight and malnourished, meaning we need to get them on a well-balanced diet with supplements to ensure their welfare is at its upmost. We make sure all donkeys are seen by farriers regularly and have access to veterinary care 24/7 as the donkey health and condition is our priority. They are given supplements and a balanced diet to ensure a healthy weight is maintained.
An average monthly breakdown of the cost on just one donkey, averages out at around £300 a month, however each donkeys funding can vary at WRD depending on their diets or ongoing medication/treatments.
